Plot synopsis
Based on the novella of the same name by Anatoly Rybakov. Seryozha Krasheninnikov, nicknamed Krosh, believes he lacks technical ability, but has organizational skills. Meanwhile, Igor is looking for places to buy, sell, and trade something. But he is not chosen as the supplier, but the good-natured Vadim. Soon, at the motor pool where ninth-graders are doing their internship, a new shock absorber is discovered missing…

Made in 1961 based on a story by Anatoly Rybakov, the film is a typical work of the sixties. The romance of youth. Honesty versus greed. The collective and its separation. Personal and social interests. Good triumphing over evil. Nikita Mikhalkov, as Vadim, looks incredibly plump, which suits his character very well—the son of difficult parents, who easily escorts his friends into a restaurant, telling the guards at the entrance "hello from dad."
