Documentary viewed on the Internet about the tragedy in Beslan (North Ossetia), where, from 1 to 3 September 2004, terrorists held 1,128 people hostage in a school. Among them, 334 died, including 186 children; 126 hostages (70 children) were seriously injured; many are still undergoing rehabilitation.
The three-hour report shows the current daily life of the survivors. Throughout the film, Yuri Dud gives the floor to representatives of NGOs, civil servants and journalists, in an attempt to reconstruct the events and "find the culprits". Indeed, many Russians remain convinced that the authorities did not do everything in their power to free the hostages. They blame them in particular for refusing to negotiate with the terrorists and for provoking the carnage by ordering special forces to storm the school.
