Masha tries to study in Moscow to leave her hometown but she fails the exams. She has only one friend, a black Frenchman with whom she communicates by video in two languages. Macha ends up on the set of a strange first film where she does dubbing of erotic scenes. In her attempts to escape her solitude and find friends, the heroine discovers that she is not in the same register as those around her. She tries to create relationships with her hometown and her house, rejecting the idea of leaving.
