Plot synopsis
The war came not only to Ukraine. She also came to Russian families. The heroes of the film are seven pairs of close people, with each of whom the author of the film talks separately and asks the same questions.
Given the dissident director’s inability to travel to Russia in today’s political climate as well as the protagonists’ widely dispersed locations (St. Petersburg, Samara, Magnitogorsk, Baltiisk in Kaliningrad oblast, Chusovoi in Perm krai, Tbilisi, London, and Leipzig), Loshak was forced to conduct most of the interviews via video conferencing with the help of his teams on each location (Volchek 2022).
