Plot synopsis
In the 20s of the last century, the rector of the Solovetsky Monastery, Archimandrite Veniamin, and his associate, Hieromonk Nikifor, after being expelled from the monastery, settled on Volkozero, in the Arkhangelsk taiga. Here they spent the last years of their lives before their tragic death. Almost 100 years later, monastic life arose again in these places, and the Zarechny monastery was founded. The film shows the path that two monks had to go through - from a tent in an open field to a house with electricity, a video surveillance system, running water and utility services. Does modern technology interfere with a solitary spiritual life? Is there a place for creativity in Christianity? What is the most difficult thing in the life of a monk? The viewer will know about this.
