Arkady Smekalov bought a scrapped icebreaking river tug and began to build a sailing ship from it - the two-masted ketch "Selenga". Someone came and twisted his finger to the temple, another stayed to help him. Many years have passed since then, and although Selenga has proven its reliability in stormy weather, the boat is not yet ready for the conditions of the Arctic Ocean. No heating, no sails to face the storm, the engine needs to be rebuilt, permits need to be obtained from the border guards, the army at the nuclear test site and the national parks. But the die is already cast, the start date of the expedition is set.
