Plot synopsis

Anton Ivanovich Denikin is the main character on the Southern Front of the anti-Bolshevik resistance. In 1919, Trotsky considers the Southern Front the most dangerous and points out: "The enemy forces consist of two independent parts: the Cossacks, especially the Kuban, and the volunteer White Army, recruited from all over the country. Regarding the whole country — it is absolutely true."
The film by Nikolai Svanidze tells about the formation of the Volunteer Army, about the Ice March of the White Guard, about the fate of Generals Markov, Kornilov, and, of course, Denikin, as well as about the reasons for the defeat of the Volunteer Army in the fight against the Bolsheviks.
