The last days of the condemned poet Nikolai Goumilev, reading Homeric epics in his cell, rhyme with ancient tragedy, and his memories weave a vivid canvas of images of the people dearest to his heart, whom he was unable to protect from the impending catastrophe. Despite dire omens and the prophecy of a family curse, the Warrior nevertheless sets out on a quest for sacred knowledge, deciding to take the blow himself.
