Nadya is a successful otolaryngologist-surgeon, but at 40, she suddenly realized she knows nothing about herself. Every day at work, she examines patients' senses, but she's forgotten how to hear her own feelings, or perhaps never heard them at all. Her husband, Boris, left her two years ago, unable to cope with the routine, although the couple is still married. Nadya is raising her daughter, Olivia, and continues to live in her mother-in-law's apartment.
Nadezhda needs change to see that there really is so much love in the world. And six "lessons of tenderness" emerge in her life, each of which will help her rediscover herself, her own voice, and her new hope.
