Plot synopsis
An argument fuelled by alcohol and a refusal to back down force a farmer from the Moscow suburbs and a Moscow socialite to swap jobs. And so Dima, a country lad, becomes the manager of a high-end but loss-making restaurant. Pitting everything natural and traditional against glitz and artifice, he attempts to show the trendy Patricians the true Russian soul with borscht instead of foie gras. At the same time, Angelina, accustomed to designer clothes and the capital’s service industry, finds herself on a farm on the brink of bankruptcy. She wields a spade for the first time and organises performances at the market to boost egg sales. Little by little, their arguments and mutual dislike give way to a sincere desire to help one another. And now, their main mission is to save not only each other’s businesses, but also their loved ones, and to find not only new opportunities, but also true love.
