A young girl named Nadia is growing up with a haemangioma — a large mark on her face that makes her an outcast in her home village. Amidst her mother’s dreams of surgery, her grandmother’s rituals and the taunts of her peers, the girl finds solace in singing in the choir and in her friendship with the only person close to her — Yura. But an accident leads to both of them being injured, and Nadia’s life changes forever.
Admitted to a Moscow clinic, she meets children whose trials are far greater than her own.
