Plot synopsis
On New Year's Eve, an old Buryat hunter tells Seryozha and Petya how, according to popular belief, Stalin, with the help of a hunter, was able to escape from exile. To thank the hunter, Stalin gave him his pipe. The hunter died during the Civil War and the pipe was kept by another hunter. The boys then decided to go in search of the famous pipe and give it to Stalin as a gift.
