Baron Paul de Rousseau (Thierry Monfray) is a true aristocrat who lives in a magnificent castle near Paris and dreams of true love. Unfortunately in his situation it is impossible: women seek Paul's company only for his wealth and his place in society. The only happiness for the romantic soul of the baron are the letters of a young Russian girl, Ira, that his valet, Guillaume, (Bernard Passavy) found through a marriage agency.
Ira is Anna, (Maria Goloubkina) a modest interpreter. After finishing the University of Moscow she did not look for a prestigious job in the capital and returned to her hometown of Potma. Out of despair she married a trucker, Lentchik (Garik Soukatchev). The only thing that keeps her from sinking are the letters she sends to France in the name of her friend Ira.
By a happy coincidence, destiny will bring the two heroes together. And this meeting will change not only their lives but the fate of all the inhabitants of this small provincial town...
