Plot synopsis
Based on the story by Mikhail Sholokhov "The Fate of a Man".
Sergei Bondarchuk reads Sholokhov's story from the stage. The reading is illustrated with war newsreel footage and game episodes, where S. Bondarchuk plays the role of Andrei Sokolov.
