Petrograd, October 1917. At a meeting of the Central Committee, Lenin raises the issue of an armed uprising. Zinoviev speaks out against the uprising. Then Sverdlov puts Lenin's proposal to a vote, and the majority of the Central Committee members vote for Lenin's resolution. The Provisional Government hastily gathers troops at the Winter Palace, preparing to crush the uprising. The commander of the Aurora, Erickson, receives an order to go to sea. However, the chairman of the ship's committee of the Aurora, Belyshev, cancels this order.
