A day in the life of a worker and his son in a provincial industrial town. The father is an active trade unionist. For several months the workers have been spontaneously organizing meetings demanding the payment of wages. These daily struggles lead to a conflict between the townspeople and the Moscow businessmen who intend to take over the factory.
