Plot synopsis

The famous lawyer Armen Sarkissov arrives at the restaurant "Ostrov" to meet his granddaughter Lialia whom he loves very much and her fiancé Misha Zolin. The young people celebrated the girl's admission to the faculty of journalism.
Right at the entrance an unknown person kills the journalist Alexander Loginov who works for the popular magazine "Gorod" ("The City") and Sarkissov becomes an involuntary witness to the murder. The investigators suspect Viktor Kamorin, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Gorod", an old friend and the victim's boss. Kamorin immediately confesses to the murder but upon verification it turns out that he is lying. Lialia becomes interested in the case and asks her grandfather to conduct his own investigation. The girl is convinced that he will find the culprit.
