Plot synopsis
Animation film composed of six short films whose scenario is inspired by five fables by Jean de La Fontaine reinterpreted by Ladislas Starewitch:

- The Lion and the Gnat, 1932
- The City Rat and the Field Rat, 1926
- Frogs asking for a king, 1922
- The Cicada and the Ant, 1927
- The Lion Became Old, 1932

In addition, there is a documentary, How is born and animates a cinemarionnette (1932), of three minutes, presents Starewitch and his daughter Irene explaining their work.
