Generational conflict. Arkady Kirsanov and Yevgeny Bazarov are the same age but have completely different world views. While the former tends to take into account the opinion of the older generation, the latter totally rejects it and reproaches his friend for his lack of character, believing that he is strongly influenced by his father and his uncle, whose time is over according to him. But life will pose a problem to Yevgeny that his logical mind cannot solve: love. Will the young man be able to withstand this ordeal?
