Aficha Daily (Афиша Daily) asked 100 film critics to give their list of the 10 best Russian films released in cinemas, on streaming platforms or at festivals between 25 December 1991 and 1 August 2025. Aficha Daily then compiled a list of the 50 best Russian films of the period.

The international documentary film festival “Artdocfest” took place in Moscow until 2022. Since then, its headquarters have been in Riga. This year, from February 28 to March 8, 2026, the films are being screened in Riga. However, a significant number of films are available online with English subtitles until the end of May 2026. They can be accessed from the page for these films on our website.
