The story is built around the will of a former prisoner of a concentration camp who, having fallen into the hands of our contemporaries - a violinist from Moscow and a young Jewish teacher from New York - turns their lives upside down. As the director himself says, this is an important film about the pain of war and the importance of remembering this pain, especially in modern reality.
