The action takes place in the Soviet Union, supposedly at war. A group of Soviet scouts seizes an order from the German fascist high command to cross the Soviet border. Thousands of Soviet planes then set off to bomb German airports. Among them, Squadron No. 5. Despite the success of the Soviet bombings, the fascists manage to shoot down two Soviet planes. The pilots of Squadron No. 5 come to the rescue and, thanks to the help of a German anti-fascist soldier, they seize a German plane and are able to go and rescue their own.
