Plot synopsis
During the war in Chechnya, Sultan lost his wife and his house was destroyed. He decides to leave his country with his son Apti, already an adult, to take refuge in a Russian village. They find work in a kholkoze, but despite their efforts to integrate into a Russian society undermined by this war in Chechnya, they can neither find the peace they seek nor forget their country.
