commentaries

Included in the programme for Russian Film Week in Paris (2018), this film prompted a reaction from the Ukrainian Embassy. Its First Secretary for Cultural Affairs wrote a letter of protest against what she regarded as Kremlin propaganda. A leaflet was also distributed on 9 November 2018 outside the Arlequin cinema prior to the screening of the film.

The films by Igor Minaiev, *The Donbass Cacophony* (2017), and by Sergei Loznitsa, *Donbass* (2018), offer the Ukrainian perspective on this conflict.
